Canada is officially bilingual, and in Quebec serving customers in French is a legal requirement. Bilingual AI customer service is both a market advantage and, for Quebec, a compliance necessity.
Why bilingual matters
Beyond good service, Bill 96 requires businesses serving customers in Quebec to inform and serve them in French — so AI chatbots, voicebots and IVR must work in French to at-least-equivalent quality. An English-only AI support experience is not compliant for Quebec customers.
